Choosing the perfect location for your senior session can completely elevate the look and feel of your photos and it’s one of the first things I help my seniors decide on when planning their experience! As a senior photographer in Oklahoma City, I’ve spent years scouting the most beautiful, unique, and personality-filled spots across the metro. From vibrant murals and modern architecture to open fields and flower-filled gardens, the OKC area has no shortage of stunning backdrops.

I always encourage my seniors and their moms to start thinking through the types of locations that feel most “you” before your session day. This list highlights my go-to favorites, and it’s a great place to begin the conversation about where we’ll shoot. You might find one spot that’s perfect for your entire session, or we might combine 2–3 locations for more variety. Either way, this guide will help you get inspired and excited for your senior photos!

Myriad Botanical Gardens – Lush, Versatile & Always a Favorite

Let’s kick things off with the Myriad Botanical Gardens. This beautiful 17-acre park is located right in the middle of Oklahoma City. If you’re looking for a location that offers a little bit of everything, the Myriad Botanical Gardens is hands-down one of the best spots in Oklahoma City for senior photos, and one of the most requested by my clients! With beautifully landscaped gardens, water features, stone paths, and wide open green spaces, it’s perfect for seniors who want both natural and polished backdrops in one spot.

In spring and summer, the gardens burst with color and flowers. In the fall, the warm tones and golden leaves are absolutely stunning. No matter the season, it always photographs beautifully and gives you so much variety in one session. Whether you’re going for soft and romantic, bold and bright, or anything in between, the Myriad Gardens delivers every single time.

Fun Senior Pictures at the Devon Ice Rink/Splash Pad

During the winter this spot is the Devon Ice Skating Rink, but during the rest of the year it is a reflecting pool and splash pad with an amazing background of trees and flowers and the beautiful Colcord Hotel. This is becoming my clients favorite spot of the senior photo session! Take a look and see why! This location is just on the east side of the Myriad Gardens, so you can enjoy both locations during your senior photos!

Downtown OKC – Sleek, Modern & Editorial

For a more fashion-forward or urban look, Downtown Oklahoma City is the place to go. From glass buildings to city streets and rooftop vibes, this location gives off major editorial energy. It’s especially great for seniors who want a modern, city-chic look to their gallery.

Senior Pictures in Downtown OKC

I always love when we park around the Myriad Botanical Gardens and use that space and then also walk around the beautiful buildings of downtown OKC. You can get so much great variety in your gallery and it is all within walking distance! There’s stairs, windows, lights, roads that are safe to take photos in, and all different types of architecture. Let’s take a stroll and capture the essence of the city in your senior portraits.

Looking to add a touch of elegance to your senior portraits? Look no further than the stunning glass walls along Robinson Street. These reflective surfaces create captivating shots that are sure to impress both you and your mom! Plus, it’s conveniently located near other downtown hotspots, offering endless possibilities for your photoshoot. The reflection shot is always one of mom’s absolute favorite in the final gallery! These first 4 locations are all within walking distance of each other!

Scissortail Park for Senior Pictures

If you’re drawn to golden hour vibes and rustic charm, Scissortail Park is the perfect location for your senior pictures. You can find tall grass during almost every season in the park. There is also the cutest little train station that has a beautiful rustic window that is perfect to add some variety to your images.

Paseo Arts District – Bold Color + Artsy Vibes

Love color and creativity? The Paseo Arts District is full of vibrant colorful buildings, and tons of character. It’s great for seniors who want something totally different from traditional parks. This spot screams personality and fun!

Devon Boathouse Area – Sleek, Modern, & Editorial Elegance

The Devon Boathouse and surrounding area are a dream for seniors who want high-fashion vibes with clean, modern architecture. From the all-white staircases that create bold symmetry to the sharp, reflective glass of the neighboring buildings, every angle here makes a statement. It’s the perfect location if you’re going for a chic, elevated look. Whether you’re rocking a formal gown or a fun, colorful jumpsuit.
This spot truly shines at golden hour, with light bouncing off the glass for a gorgeous glow. If you want your senior session to feel modern, powerful, and totally stand-out…this is the location for you.

Rooftop Senior Photos in OKC

Another popular location for senior photos in OKC is on this rooftop. The sun sets and creates a beautiful golden glow right around the top of Frontline Church. If you turn just a little you get a glimpse of the OKC skyline too! Not to mention, the gorgeous colors of the Oklahoma sunset. There is also a set of pretty yellow steps with glowy light shining through on the rooftop.

Will Rogers Gardens – Floral & Timeless

This location is a favorite in the spring and early summer when the gardens are in full bloom. With stone pathways, rose gardens, and a greenhouse vibe, it’s perfect for seniors who want something romantic and classic. It’s also a beautiful spot for flowy dresses and soft, feminine styling.
