The summer is one of the best times of year to have your senior pictures taken. Your schedule is much more flexible, the rain chances are extremely low, and the golden sunlight is pure perfection! One of the best locations in the OKC area to have your senior photos taken in the summer is the Myriad Gardens area. It is absolutely stunning this time of year! Lush greens, bright flowers, and the sun peaking through in all the right places.

One draw back I hear from clients is the Oklahoma heat in the summer. The good news is we shoot all senior photos in the evening and we stay in the shade most of the time. Is it still hot? Yes, but it is bearable. I will always have an ice chest full of ice cold water out on the session and plenty of time to stop and cool off if needed. Another concern I hear often, “I don’t want my makeup to melt off!” The good thing about having your senior pictures done with Brandi Price Photography is that professional hair and makeup is INCLUDED WITH EVERY SESSION! My professional makeup artist knows how to apply the absolute best makeup and setting spray and I have never had a client whose makeup moved, even in the hot Oklahoma summers.

I recently had Chloe’s summer senior photo session. Chloe will be a Class of 2023 graduate of Moore High School. When she and her mom were discussing what she wanted to wear for her senior pictures, the only thing Chloe was certain about was wearing black leather pants. (Those did have me worried in the heat!) These are 2 of my faves from Chloe’s senior picture gallery. I love the creamy backlight and the vibrant greens!

When I saw Chloe’s black leather pants and the bright blue shirt, I knew I wanted to incorporate yellow into the background. I couldn’t find the exact spot I was wanting, but we stumbled upon these fun yellow windows and a cute yellow chair. When we were finishing up, Chloe told me her favorite color was yellow! That was the perfect coincidence!

I think she totally rocked the black leather pants! They were the perfect choice for her!

Other than the yellow background photos, all the rest of the images were taken right around the Myriad Gradens. There is such variety in colors, backgrounds, and lighting all within the grounds of the park. I love the little splash pad/reflecting pool too!

As you can see, even in the 100 degree heat, Chloe’s makeup still looks just as good at the end of her session as it did in the beginning!
