3 Ways I Can Help You With Posing Anxiety For Your Senior Photos | OKC Senior Photographer

April 26, 2021

The NUMBER ONE fear my clients have is that they’re not going headline to know what to do when it comes to posing for their pics! When we actually get to the end of the session, my clients always say, “OMG – I had no idea it was going to be that easy and so much fun!”

Let’s talk about 3 WAYS I CAN HELP YOU WITH POSING ANXIETY!

#1. I’m going to actually SHOW you how I want you to pose! I’ll get in the pose myself so that you can actually see how it should look! This way, there are no doubts about what it should look like!

#2. I also like to take plenty of TIME when it comes to posing my clients! I refuse to rush through a pose because that’s only going to make you even more nervous! We’ll go slow & easy!

#3. We’re also going to keep your poses NATURAL! I will actually look for your natural mannerisms to see what kind of posing we should do to reflect your natural personality!

Let’s take a look at a few of my favorite poses and prompts!

Senior Girls posing for senior pictures around oklahoma city.

I love the variety I can capture with this pose/prompt! I just ask the girls to sway back and forth, making sure to take one knee over the other. They continue to move as I walk around them and get different angles.

This pose looks stunning on everyone! I will walk up to the wall and pose exactly how I want you to pose and then have you do the pose and make adjustments accordingly.

Another pose that isn’t really a pose! I just ask my senior to walk away from me and then when I count to 3, they turn around and look at me. I love the movement in the clothing and hair this creates, as well as the more natural movements from each girl.

This pose is always a favorite of my seniors. They all say “OHHH, I saw this pose on Instagram!” I love how it can work in an urban or natural setting.

Another favorite non-pose I use for fun is walking off the curb! These are just to have fun and add some awesome variety into your final gallery! The biggest trick to making this one work is to actually walk off the curb and not just fake it.

And finally, STAIRS! Stairs always make posing easier seniors! There are so many different ways to pose on the stairs. We will work through a few and find which one works best for you.

I love the walk away and turn around pose. When I tell my seniors to do it, they laugh and are like REALLY ?!?!? We do a few, I show them and they LOVE them. These are all great ideas and as always the work is great.

I absolutely love the movement I get in their hair and clothes in that “pose”! My senior’s always feel awkward the first time they do it, so it’s definitely one we do multiple times.
