When I talked to Hannah on the phone about her Oklahoma Senior Portrait session she said she wanted a “lace country” vibe. We talked about a few locations, but I wasn’t sold on what we came up with and neither was she. About an hour later her dad called and he had worked out a way for us to photograph her session where her younger sister takes horse riding lessons. It ended up being absolutely perfect and brought her vision to life!
When we saw this cute little red barn and the chickens wondering around it, we knew we had to incorporate it into her senior photos! It took a while to get the chickens to come back after we walked over and scared them off, but they finally had to come check out what we were doing. I love this image and it reminds me of a Miranda Lambert album cover! The white lace outfit, the boots, the chickens…what more could you ask for!?!
One perk of having your senior pictures done in the spring is having your cap and gown available to use during your session. If you have your session in the summer or fall and want to incorporate your cap and gown you could always find a friend that graduated the year before you and borrow theirs. Some schools also keep a spare one in the office, so you could always check with them as well. Cap and gown photos are more than just pictures; they represent a culmination of years of hard work, growth, and achievements, making them a worthwhile investment in capturing a significant life moment.
The lady that gives riding lessons had this sweet horse all cleaned up and ready to pose for pictures with Hannah. He was such a patient guy and followed up wherever we went. We did some photos on the horse and some of Hannah standing next to him. Look at his sweet ears pointed up!
