A lot of our seniors want to wear at least one casual look during their senior session and now that it’s finally fall in Oklahoma, we’re seeing lots of beautiful chunky sweaters and slouchy cardigans making their way into senior session wardrobes!
Want to incorporate the cozy casual fall trend into your senior session? Here’s 3 tips to remember when opting for this look during your portrait session:
1. When you wear chunky or oversized knits on top, keep your bottom frame in slim cuts like leggings, skinny jeans, or even close to the body relaxed jeans. Stay away from wide legged and billowy pants when wearing this look because all of that material will swallow you up and add a ton of mass to your body.
2. Look for a cardigan that skims the natural lines of your body; not one that balloons out at the waist. I know super chunky cardigans are in right now, but they don’t do anything for flattering the body and just add a ton of weight to your frame.
3. Don’t stop at the sweater. Complete your look by polishing it off with boots and a wide brimmed hat to make it Pinterest-worthy and purposeful. Just throwing on a sweater may be perfect for everyday life, but these are senior portraits & completing your outfit is a must.
The fall senior team session never disappoints! I love the rich tones, golden sunlight, and fall fashion! We decided to have our fall session at Mitch Park in Edmond and it was magical! The trees were the perfect mix of yellow, orange, and a little green. The weather was perfection, a true rarity in Oklahoma. The girls absolutely killed the fashion game. We captured some amazing images while making more fun memories.
Since it is the season of thanksgiving, I asked some of my senior team girls to tell me what they are thankful for. Reading their responses made my heart so happy. This is just the most genuine group of girls I have had the privilege of working with.
“I am thankful for my strong family that is rooted in Christ who help me grow my faith and who are always there for me. I am also thankful for my church youth. We are so close it’s like a second family and they are always there for one another and are amazing at building each other up.”-Kailey, 2024 Norman High School Senior
“I am thankful for the new friends I have made this year, my family, my dogs, God, and academic/athletic college opportunities.”-Ella, Edmond Memorial Class of 2024 Senior
“I am thankful for my mom and the siblings she has given me and the ability to run cross country and track.”-Mylee, 2024 Moore High School Senior
“I am thankful for Jesus coming to die for my sins, my family always being there and supporting me through everything, my friends who have taught me how to have fun and who continually speak into my life, and my wonderful boyfriend who never gives up on making me happy and always knows what I want and gives me everything I could ever ask for.”-Riley, Choctaw High School Senior 2024
“I am thankful for God and everyone around me.”-Nevaeh, Southmoore High School Senior 2024
As for me personally, I have so much to be thankful for. This senior team has been such a blessing to me and they are truly a joy to be around. My business is in the best place it’s been in since I started. I have the absolute best clients in Oklahoma! My family is happy and healthy. My dogs are crazy and bring me endless entertainment every day. I have the best friends a girl could ask for. The Lord has worked in me and on me and is continually molding me into the person He created me to be.
Happy Thanksgiving friends!
