Unique Senior Photos Around OKC

Everyone knows that the best senior photos are often the most unique. After all, why look like everyone else when you can stand out? In recent years, rooftop photo shoots have become increasingly popular among high school seniors. What better place to showcase your personality than a rooftop overlooking your hometown?

There’s something about rooftops that screams “cool and confident” — almost every major city with an urban landscape has its fair share of beautiful rooftop views. But as you may have noticed, most of them are off-limits to the general public. That’s where that whole being unique thing comes in handy!

Fall Senior Photos On A Rooftop In Downtown OKC

I don’t typically photograph a lot of seniors on a rooftop. In Oklahoma it is typically windy and one thing to keep in mind when wanting to take your senior photos on a rooftop is that if it is a little breezy on the ground it is going to be super windy on the rooftop. These 2 girls this fall though might have changed my mind! I love how both of their images came out! The beautiful golden hour light. The city in the background. Their outfit choices. It all just came together so beautifully.

Even though we were on a rooftop, there are still multiple ways to get some good variety! These yellow steps that are used to go from the lower rooftop to the higher one let the dropping sun rays in just perfectly!

You can also use the walls of the rooftop to get different looks. This is also a great way to hide from the wind a little and get a few pictures without hair blowing in your face.

Sunset Senior Pictures on a Rooftop

Probably my favorite thing about taking senior photos on a rooftop is the beautiful sunset you can capture in the background. This domed church provides the perfect backdrop to block a little sun and allows just the right amount of golden glow to come around it. Because of the sunlight, a rooftop would be your last location of your senior session. Make sure and keep that in mind when planning your outfits and the order you are going to wear them.

One final thing to keep in mind if you are planning to take some of your senior pictures on a rooftop: not all rooftops are accessible and not all rooftops are open to the public. Make sure you are not breaking any rules and have fun!

OKC Summer Senior Pictures On A Rooftop

Gracie wanted to include some fun pictures on the rooftop overlooking downtown OKC. She picked the perfect white tulle dress to make her images super fun! We waited until the sun was setting and I pulled out my off camera lights to be able to capture the gorgeous Oklahoma sunset. It was a perfect way to end her summer session!

I love this rooftop because you can get a good view of the sunset when facing one way and a great view of the OKC skyline when facing a different way.
