When Should I Book My Senior Picture Session?

Let’s bust the myth that you should wait until spring of your graduating year to book your senior session.

As much as spring is a favorite season for senior pictures, there are some issues you may run into during these months. Timing can be tricky as you’ll be entering a very busy season of pre-graduation festivities like senior recitals, college visits, prom, spring break, etc. This can make pinning down a session date difficult and make a needed weather reschedule even more problematic.

Another issue related to timing is image & product delivery. Editing your session images could take up to 2 weeks, and designing and delivery of any ordered products could take up to another 3 weeks on top of that. So, if you’re wanting to have custom grad announcements and products like canvases, albums, or signature wall art showcased for your grad party, keep that in mind when booking your spring session date and opt for an early spring date instead of a later one.

Another factor to consider is if you want to incorporate your college into your senior session… you likely won’t know until the Spring of your graduating year, so if that is a must for you, this season would be your go-to option.

Senior Pictures in Midtown OKC

I absolutely loved this beautiful dress with the side cutouts that Grace chose for her senior pictures. We decided to photograph this outfit in the Midtown area of Oklahoma City. The retro concrete wall paired well for a more editorial set of images. Then the steps at Frontline Church gave some elegance and beautiful lighting!

Senior Girl Photos in the Myriad Gardens

We finished Grace’s session in the Myriad Gardens. She wore 2 outfits as we walked through the flower gardens, used multiple stairways, and, of course, the splash pad area. If a spring senior session sounds perfect for you, you’ll want to contact me and book your session in the fall / winter of your Senior year – aka RIGHT NOW! This will allow you plenty of time to plan ahead, download our client resources, and prepare for your spring session. *Remember that this is the most popular season to book, so dates will sell out quickly. It’s best to book this season as early as possible. Do not wait until April to book your spring session! Dates will be gone!
