Our first Class of 2027 Senior Team session is officially in the books, and I could not have asked for a prettier night to kick off the year! There’s always something special about that first team session. Some of the girls already know each other, some are meeting for the first time, and everyone is coming into the night from different schools, different towns, and different friend groups. Then we get everyone together and it starts to sink in…
For this session, we headed to The Grove for an evening in the flower field, and Oklahoma showed off for us with the prettiest golden light and sunset. I knew I wanted our first session to feel really summery, feminine, and colorful, so I asked all of the girls to wear flowy dresses. I didn’t give them one specific color palette or tell them they all needed to match. I wanted them to choose something they loved and felt good in. And somehow it all came together SO perfectly.
We had florals, pinks, blues, whites, bright colors, softer colors…and seeing everyone walking through the field together was even prettier than I had pictured it in my head. This is one of my favorite things about team sessions. There’s an overall vision for each shoot, but I still want every girl to look like herself.

The first team session is a little different from the ones we’ll have later in the year because everyone is still getting to know each other. The BPP Senior Team isn’t made up of one big friend group from the same school. These girls come from different places, and some of them probably wouldn’t have ever met if it weren’t for the team. I love watching that change throughout the year.
At the beginning of our first session, everyone is figuring things out and getting comfortable. Before long, they’re walking through a field holding hands, laughing together, helping each other with dresses and just having fun. And that’s really what I want these sessions to be.
Of course we’re going to create beautiful pictures. That’s kind of a given around here. 😂 But I also want the girls to leave with an actual memory from their senior year.
One of the reasons I love having a Senior Team is because senior year moves SO quickly. There are going to be so many big moments for these girls over the next several months, but there are also going to be a lot of little moments that they don’t realize they’ll miss until later. Our team sessions give us a chance to stop throughout the year and document some of it. Every session has a different feel. We’ll photograph in different seasons and locations, try different ideas, and create images that look completely different from what we made before. By the end of the year, the girls don’t just have one set of senior pictures. They have pieces of their entire senior year documented. And I love that.

Looking through these pictures makes me so excited for what’s ahead for this group. This night was just the beginning. Right now, senior year is still stretched out in front of them. Graduation feels far away. There are football games, homecomings, holidays, school events and so many “lasts” still to come. And before we know it, I’ll be photographing them at one of our final team sessions wondering how in the WORLD the year went by so fast.
But for now, we get to be right here at the beginning. A field full of flowers, flowy dresses, a gorgeous Oklahoma sunset and a group of Class of 2027 girls getting to know each other. Not a bad way to start senior year.

Every spring, I open applications for the next Brandi Price Photography Senior Team. It’s always fun when applications open because I know the girls looking through these posts are trying to picture what their own senior year could look like. And that’s one of the reasons I blog our team sessions. I want future BPP Senior Team girls to be able to look back through the years and see the different things we’ve done, the places we’ve gone, and the memories we’ve created together. No two years are exactly alike.
And this is officially where the Class of 2027 story begins.
