A Christmas Senior Team Session to Remember: Why Photos in Every Season Matter

There’s something about Christmas as a high school senior. It’s your last holiday season before life takes you all in different directions and you start to feel it. The sweetness of traditions, the weight of “this is our last one,” and the joy of being surrounded by the people who have shaped you for years.

That’s exactly why I love our Senior Team Christmas session so much.
This year, we gathered at REN Studio in Edmond, a cozy, modern space that felt like it was built for holiday magic. The girls walked in with two outfits: one dressy, one casual, both dripping in festive personality. And from the first laugh to the last photo, you could feel the joy of the season.

But here’s the thing: this session isn’t just about holiday photos. It’s about capturing your senior year in every season: fall, winter, spring, and everything in between so that when you look back, you don’t just remember what you looked like… you remember who you were.

And Christmas is one of the most unforgettable parts of that story.

Photos in Every Season Tell the Real Story of Your Senior Year

When you’re part of the Senior Team, your photos become a visual diary of your entire senior experience. Fall shows the excitement and anticipation.
Spring brings the glow of almost-graduation.
Summer sessions feel carefree and bold.
But winter, especially Christmas, holds a different kind of magic.

Winter photos capture:

  • the closeness of friendships
  • the sweetness of traditions
  • the quiet confidence that grows over the year
  • the sparkle of something meaningful and familiar

At our Christmas session this year, the girls laughed, twirled in holiday dresses, and made fun videos and posed with wrapped presents, twinkling trees, and winter greenery. But the best moments weren’t posed at all. They were the glances, the giggles, the “Oh my gosh you look SO cute!” moments that happen when girls feel fully safe, fully themselves, and fully free to enjoy the season.

Those are the moments I want them to remember years from now.

Because senior year moves fast…
and these seasonal sessions slow it down just enough to savor it.

Why Christmas Photos Matter More Than You Think

Christmas is emotional. It’s nostalgic. It makes you want to hold the people you love just a little closer.

That’s why these photos hit differently.

They’re not just pictures, they’re reminders.

Reminders of:

  • who your closest people were
  • where you spent your time
  • how it felt to be loved and supported
  • the confidence that kept growing throughout the year
  • the memories that still make you smile

When your senior year is over and everyone scatters to colleges, jobs, and new adventures, these photos become little time capsules. And every time you look at them, you’ll remember the girl you were becoming, even if you didn’t realize it at the time.

A Christmas Bucket List for You and Your Senior Friends

I shared this on Instagram yesterday, but it belongs here too, because if this is your last Christmas together before the world gets big, you deserve to make it count.

Here are fun (and meaningful!) things to do with your girls this season:

🎄 Drive through Christmas lights
🍪 Bake cookies + exchange them
📸 Take cozy holiday bestie photos
Holiday drink taste-test at your fave coffee spot
🎁 Make small gifts for each other
💌 Write cards to your future selves
A hot chocolate + Christmas movie night
🧣 Thrift ugly sweaters + wear them out
💛 Volunteer together (nursing home cards, toy drive, food pantry)
🌟 Dress up + do a festive girls’ night out

Fill this season with moments you’ll want to remember. Because you will look back on this Christmas for years and the memories you make now will mean more than you realize.

The Heart of It All

At the end of the day, my favorite part of our Christmas senior team session isn’t the outfits or the studio or even the final photos.

It’s the way the girls look at each other. The way they laugh. The way they support and affirm each other.
The way they settle into themselves shoulders dropping, smiles softening, confidence growing because they feel seen, valued, and loved exactly as they are.

That’s what I pray for every senior on my team. And that’s why we photograph every season. Because confidence doesn’t happen in a single moment. It grows, layer by layer, throughout the year.

If you’re a junior and you’re dreaming of a senior year filled with friendship, confidence, and experiences that help you remember who you are… you may want to stick around.
Senior Team applications open soon, and I would love to walk through every season with you.
