Our last senior team session was one for the books. We packed up 11 seniors, one mom, and me, then hit the road for a little over an hour to reach a hidden pond at The Prairie Patch, with the cutest green canoe you’ve ever seen. With two cars full of dresses, snacks, and laughter, the day was already off to a fun start before we even arrived.
When we pulled in, we were welcomed by friendly owners and the prettiest view. The pond was sparkling, the grass was lush, and the weather couldn’t have been better. “The location was so pretty, the weather was just right, and the owners were so kind,” said Hannah Kate.
One by one, the girls took turns in front of the camera, posing next to the canoe decorated with fresh greenery and flowers. “It was super fun to watch each girl have her moment in the spotlight and cheer them on,” said Makenna.
We mixed in fun group shots too, including our “galloping” pose that had everyone laughing. “The galloping group shots were so funny, and the pictures turned out amazing,” said Taylor.
Before we packed up the canoe, we took a short walk over to the dock. The warm evening light was perfect, and the water behind us glowed in the sunset. The girls twirled in their dresses, laughed together, and leaned in for sweet group shots. It was a quiet, golden moment that balanced out all the big, joyful energy of the rest of the day.
On the way to the session, we passed a very old, run-down Dairy Queen. It looked like it hadn’t been open in years, and it left us all a little shocked. “That, and bonding with the girls, were my favorite behind-the-scenes moments,” said Seiny.
The group’s energy stayed high the whole day. “If I had to describe this group in one word, I would say caring,” shared Eleiyah. “I’ve never seen a moment where the girls didn’t look out for each other.”
Somewhere between the group photos and individual shots, the girls talked me into joining them for a TikTok. I don’t usually jump at the chance to be in front of the camera, but I decided to roll with it. We laughed through the whole thing, and I have to admit—it turned out to be one of my favorite memories from the day.
After packing up, we piled back into the cars and made a stop at Taco Bell for a quick bite. It was the perfect way to end the day, laughing over tacos and burritos before heading home.
When I think back on this session, I remember the sunshine on the water, the girls cheering for each other, and the way the day felt both exciting and easy. Or, as the team put it: amazing, fun, silly, and picturesque.
