We are so close to the flowers blossoming here in Oklahoma! The Myriad Botanical Gardens will be covered in every color of tulips you can imagine before long!

Why are spring senior portrait sessions so great in OKC?

+ SPRING FLOWERS: if you’re wanting an extra pop of color in your pics or even a more organic feel to your vibe, spring is the perfect time because of all the beautiful green nature and flowers! The tulips at the Myriad Garden in the spring are just magical!

+BEAUTIFUL COLORS: besides the blooming flowers, the grass is finally starting to turn green and the trees are starting to sprout blooms as well. Oklahoma Redbuds make a stunning backdrop for your senior pictures.

+ SUN DRENCHED IMAGES: there is a special kind of warmth in the sun during the golden hour and it absolutely sparkles during the spring months!

+ SPRING FASHION: this is the time to wear all the fun and flirty fashions! From sophisticated short sets and ruffled rompers to portrait perfect pastels and flowy fabrics, spring brings all the fresh and new trends!⁠

+ PERFECT TEMPERATURES: we are finally passed the frigid temperatures of the winter and aren’t to the hot and humid weather that the summer brings.

+ CAP AND GOWN PHOTOS: A huge advantage to taking your senior pictures in the spring is that you will already have your cap and gown and we will be able to incorporate those into your session. They are perfect for graduation announcements.

With the pastel light and tones, it makes the most beautiful backdrop for senior pictures! So let’s dive in and curate a gorgeous spring senior session wardrobe!

Spring session staples that stand the test of time are floral patterns, pastel tones, bright colors, and lots of fabric!

1. Floral patterns: spring florals usually arrive in larger prints than fall styles and you can find them everywhere from crop tops and rompers to mini and maxi dresses. For a bohemian look, opt for watercolor florals while appliqués will show up in resort wear styles.

2. Pastel tones: imagine these colors as springtime petals… pretty pinks, lovely lavenders, buttery yellows, and blissful blues. Layer them with white for a sophisticated style or even light washed denim for springtime casual vibes.

3. Bright colors: no, I’m not talking about NEON – because that’s a no-no color for portraits! I’m talking about magentas, cobalts, jades, and lilac! These colors are beautiful to wear in the spring because they’ll complement all the wild flowers in your backdrop!

4. Fabric: whether it’s tiered ruffles, statement sleeves, tassels, or voluminous maxis, the more fabric, the better! Extra fabric will add so much movement and life to your portraits!
